How can I move out if I am a minor? 3 Answers as of August 15, 2011

I have a job, a place to live and reliable transportation. I'll be 18 this November but I cant stand being cussed out everyday by my grandparents (my legal guardians). I need out now.

You can't be on your own until age 18 unless you are emancipated, which is rare. And that doesn't happen quickly, so even if you were the 1 in 10,000 people who might have a case, it would take months to get it heard.

You can talk to an attorney about emancipation if you are self-supporting and have transportation and a place to live. But seeing as you will be 18 in 3 months or so, you may not be able to get into court soon enough to make a difference, particularly if you consider what you would have to pay an attorney.
