How can I learn about unfair hiring practices? Posted on March 31, 2011

My employer has a contractor as a director over my work area. A position came open and I was informed that it would be filled by a contractor and not open to qualified internal candidates. This has happened more than once. I was told that I could "try" applying though the contractor but I choose not to as I have worked for the contractor in the past and left due to unethical business practices/discrimination which their HR department stated were unfounded. Therefore I'm sure I'm not in good standing with the contractor. I was wondering if this is a violation of the EOE that my employer endorses, though the contractor is another company.
