How can I be sued for a wreck I was not involved in? Is it even legal? 1 Answers as of June 21, 2017

I am being sued for an accident that I wasn't involved in. The truck has been recently broke down prior to the accident and there wasn't any insurance on the vehicle but now they are suing me for damages to the other vehicle even though I was even there.

Write an Answer that denies the allegations. File it with the Court Clerk, and copy all other parties. Make sure you stay in touch with the Clerk's office to know when the Court dates are, so you don't miss any appearances and your opportunity to tell the Court your side. If you can afford it, hire an attorney! If you cannot afford one, see about Legal Aid, or your local county's Pro Bono association if there is one.
