When a case is filed in Federal Court, is there a time limit for the attorneys to finish depositions during the discovery period and if so, is the case thrown out of the system?

There is not a specific answer as each case is different. As a general rule, the judge will set the discovery deadlines, but those tend to be flexible because the information is constantly flowing between the parties. In federal cases, because they tend to be very coomplex in nature, there are longer peroids for discovery. If you have a case pending, you should check with your attorney and ask about the disocery deadlines in your case.
