Does someone have a right to claim fifty percent of an idea without an investment? Posted on August 08, 2011
About 10 years ago a friend and myself came up with a business idea. I made the entire investment in starting it and worked on it every day and had him as an employee for 2 years when he decided he did not want to work for me anymore. A few years later he started his own business with the same exact concept and failed...he now moved across the country and his nephew is stuck in a rut. He wrote on a piece of paper giving him 50% of my company...is there any LEGAL action they can take if I refuse this since there was no investment on their part and they have not put in any effort to help this business flourish?
