Does the new state have sole jurisdiction over us in domestic law? Posted on July 24, 2011

If me and my spouse move from a state where we've had long-term residency (10+ years), and establish residency in a new state, does the new state now have sole jurisdiction over us in domestic law? If I (or my spouse) return to the former state of long-term residency, must residency now be reestablished to pursue domestic litigation there? If so, which state then has jurisdiction, and can either state "overrule" the other?
