Does my employer have to help me if I have a restraining order against an ex employee? Posted on June 26, 2011

If I have a restraining order on an ex-employee whom I fired (I had no other contact with this associate except through work) does the company have to help protect me? The restraining order states that he is not allowed on the premises of this work location. I gave my employer a copy of the restraining order and they informed me that they would not stop him from coming into my work place and they would not call the police if came there. Don't they have a legal obligation to ensure my safety from this person?
