Does it help my DWI case if my arresting officers were fired for drug use? 1 Answers as of May 17, 2011

I was arrested for a DWI in Thayer Missouri. Both the officers have since been fired for drug use. Does this in anyway help me to beat the charge?

Yes. It can be used to impeach the officer's credibility if they are convicted of a crime (such a possession of drugs, corruption, DUI, etc). Often prosecutors will refuse to issue charges on cases handled by such officers, and may offer to dismiss pending cases that were handled by such officers. However, the mere fact that they were fired will not get your case thrown out.\
