Does a criminal record stay on legal papers if the charge is dropped? 1 Answers as of July 25, 2011
My boyfriend is in prison and when you look him up on Jacksonville sheriff 's office it says the charges were dropped but he is still serving time for that crime. Also in the courts it says he has ten years mandatory but his legal papers don't say that. Could you please explain this to me?Free Case Evaluation by a Local Lawyer!

Yes. There is still the arrest record. He cannot be in prison on charges that were "dropped". He can be in prison on charges that were reduced or for other charges.
