Do you need physically reside for the last 3month in the state, where you are applying for naturalization? Also do you need to submit a tax return if you never worked?

You must be a resident of the state where you are applying for citizenship for three months before filing. Travel after filing depends on the physical presence during the statutory period prior to filing.
