Do I still pay child support if my child moves in with me at age 18? 2 Answers as of July 01, 2015

My papers say I pay child support until my daughter turns 19 in a year. She turns 18 in two months and is moving in with me, do I still pay?

Unless you have the Court grant a motion to modify the Child Support, you are still liable for the Child Support that accrues until the child reaches the age of majority which is 19 years old in Alabama. If you file a motion to modify, say next week, and it isn't heard for six months, it will "relate back" to the date you filed it.
