Do I owe a company money if I cancel a contract? Posted on August 02, 2011

I taught in Mexico for 6 months. I was hired by a placement company. I had signed a contract for another year, but things at the school got bad so I decided to cancel my contract. The school never gave me my last pay check nor did they reimburse me for my doctors visits (which was a stipulation of the contract). The company says I owe them $300 for canceling my contract. Even though I gave them more than 30 days notice and have not been paid by the school.
