Sentencing, including fines, are set by the judge. The maximum fine for public lewdness, a class 'A' misdemeanor, is $1,000. Your fine could be anywhere up to that plus a state mandatory surcharge thanks to Governor Cuomo (the first one). The courts usually want you to pay immediately but they will usually give you time to pay if requested. 30 or 60 days to pay is common.
