Do I have to pay for an employee error? Posted on March 29, 2011

I sold old silver and gold to a shop today. When told the total payout was $408 I flipped. Asked many times if the amount was right. Was told by the employee and the owner that it was the right price. A few hours later, I was contacted by the employee and told I needed to return $350 of the money because she made a large error in the weight of the gold. This is not my fault, and most of the money has already gone to bills. Am I legally obligated to return the difference?
