Do I have to file differently if I am married? 2 Answers as of November 24, 2010

I am engaged to be married and my fiance and I are not going to combine our finances since we both have full-time jobs and have very different views on how/when money should be spent. If I am not planning on changing any financial aspects of my life do I still have to change the way I file taxes? Will my married status affect anything?

There may be tax advantages to file together but there is no law requiring you file together.
