Do I have any legal rights to stay on the property? Posted on August 15, 2011

My mother and stepdad purchased property for me to live in while going through a divorce in 2005. Only their names appear on the mortgage. They stayed with me at the property until 2006 at which time they moved to another location as their primary residence. Since then I have paid the mortgage notes until current. My mother died in 2008 and my stepdad told me I could continue to live here for as long as I like. Well, he has since remarried in Mexico and I was advised by his new wife as of 8/4 that I have 40 days to vacate the property. Do I have any legal rights to stay in the property? I live in the state of Georgia.
