Do child custody orders have to be followed in Virginia even if they have been appealed? Posted on February 12, 2011

My husbands ex wife took him to court to stop visitation. A guardian ad litem was appointed to the case. My husband would see his son every other weekend from 9am Saturday to 6pm Sunday and 3 hrs on holidays and that she has full custody. The judge ruled that he should have his son every other weekend starting Friday at 6pm to Sunday at 6pm, half the week of his spring break and one week each month in the summer also have him for a week the two weeks he is out for Christmas. And that they have joint custody but she has full physical custody. Does she have to follow the new order even though she appealed it?
