Could I sue a landlord for a dog bite in Connecticut? 2 Answers as of December 12, 2010

I was at an apartment complex where I suffered a really bad dog bite. The landlord claims that he did not know that there were dogs in the apartment of his tenant. Do I have a case against the landlord?

Connecticut law imposes liability on the owner or keeper of the dog.

it is usually the owner or keeper of the dog; it will depend on the facts. If the tenant has renter's insurance there may be coverage under an umbrella.
