Could I successfully file a personal injury lawsuit if I hired a lawyer? 2 Answers as of April 13, 2011

I have a severe injury that I got while I was at work. Now I want to hire a personal injury attorney to go after my business for lost wages. Will I only receive workers compensation, or will I be successful in this?

Under the circumstances you described it sounds like a worker's compensation case.

Most likely, your only remedy is worker's compensation. However, the facts of your injury need to be explored to see if there is a third party claim. For instance, if you are driving a company car and someone runs in to you, then you have a claim against the car driver even though you were on the job at the time.
