Can your estate administrator put the house up for sale and then pay the mortgage off? Posted on July 06, 2011

If your Estate goes to probate and you still have a mortgage on your primary residence, what is law regarding disposition of that property? Does your estate have to pay off the mortgage as part of your debt or does the property go back to the bank that holds the note? Can your estate administrator put the house up for sale and then pay the mortgage off? Please advise
