Can we remove someone as executor of will if they're abusing their position? Posted on June 10, 2011
My grandmother passed away in February and since we have had all kinds of problems with her widower's daughter in law. She somehow became executor of my grandmother's will. The lawyer handling the case doesn't seem to know what she is doing. The will stated her widower would get 29% of the estate. They already have the car which is worth $5,500 and all that is really left is the house valued at $75k. The daughter in law is now asking for 50% so my question is how do we revoke her position as executor and also what should we do next? My grandmother owned the house about 10 yrs before they married and the daughter in law has a lien against it.
