Can someone I am dating be charged with statuary rape if I consent? 1 Answers as of June 22, 2011

I used to date a girl who was 34 years old, I'm seventeen. We did sexual stuff and sent text messages. We want to try things out again but she wants to wait until I turn 18. If we do wait until I'm 18, can she be charged with statutory rape or anything else then? If they do somehow pull it up and prove that we talked when I was 17, is there anything I can do so I can be with her?

The age of consent in Colorado is 18. If the woman you're referring to was or is in a position of trust with regard to you, there can be serious legal consequences.
