A person is not prohibited from owning any firearms if there are no convictions. However, a person may be prohibited from owning a firearm if there is a current restraining order or some other order that contains a gun prohibition. A DEJ dismissal will probably result in a person gaining back gun rights unless otherwise stated. I would need more details to fully answer the question.

As long as the person is not on probation, is not a convicted felon and does not have any other convictions or restraining orders that bar him from possessing a weapon, he should have no trouble. However, sometimes ab arrest for a particular offense may be enough to deny a purchase.
