Can a person be convicted of a DUI on private property in an unmovable car? Posted on February 11, 2011

Can a person be convicted of a DUI on their own personal property? Case in point, my friend had been drinking, his vehicle was stuck on my driveway. He got in the vehicle to try to get it unstuck from mud. The sheriff came by and arrested his for drunken driving even though the vehicle was unable to move. The vehicle was on my private road.
