Can my son leave even with a pending court date? How? 7 Answers as of June 08, 2015
My son has a court date because of a felony with prescription pills. Will he be able to come live with me out of state until the court hearing? Can he have a lawyer handle the case while he is out of state?

He will have mandatory court dates, where he will need to be in court. Other than those dates, your son is free to live wherever he wants to live.

He may live out-of-state while the matter is pending. He should have a local attorney representing him, however.

You can have the attorney handle it but with felony cases they usually want the defendant there for each court appearance. ?Also you will need the court's permission for him to be able to leave the state. ?If it is to come live with you and he doesn't have a history of not showing up to court then it is likely to be approved.
