Can my landlords enter at will if there is no emergency justification? Posted on August 13, 2011

I am renting in the New Orleans area, and recently my landlord has taken it upon themselves to walk in at will for "inspections" because there is a claim that a separate apartment has a cockroach problem. Beyond this, I have been told I cannot have a kitchen wastebasket, I cannot have flour/rice/grains in my kitchen, etc. Yesterday was the final straw when landlord came to my apartment when not at home and sprayed poisons in my closets/kitchen/home including clothing and my dishes/food. I am unsure with the local laws of what my rights even are at this point after searching Louisiana statutes.
