Can my landlord remove my items and keep my money? 2 Answers as of August 05, 2011

My ex landlord and I made an agreement that if I paid $200 I could store my items in the attic 30 july - 15 Aug. I paid the $200. Now she is saying I stored another persons items so I need to remove my stuff and she is keeping the $200. I did not store anyone else items. Can she remove my items and keep my money? She said I breached the contract, which I didn't do.

If this agreement was in writing - does it say that the landlord gets to keep the deposit plus the items if you store other people's items in the attic? Assuming there is nothing that says that, then your landlord is not acting appropriately and you may have to sue to get the items or money back.
