I currently work for a nutritional supplement company. I'd like to start my own business making nutritional supplements. Can my current employer sue me for doing this?

Unless you signed a non compete or some other document when you were hired or at any time during your employment, there is nothing to stop you from starting any business. If you signed a document that was attendant to your former employment, you may be restricted by the verbage of the document.
