Can my daughter move out with her boyfriend if he lives with his parents and she is 17? 3 Answers as of May 02, 2012

My daughter has a boyfriend and she wants to move out of my house to go live with him. He does not have his own place, and he still lives with his parents. He is 18, and she will be 17 soon, and I want to know if there is anything I can do to stop her. If so, would her getting married stop me from stopping her if I could?

She's not quite 17. She can't move out of the house unless a court declares her an emancipated minor first. Nor can she get married at her age without the consent of a parent or legal guardian.

Legally you may not since age of consent is 16 You could make an unruly Complaint to Juvenile Court.
