Can my American cousin get me my citizenship? 12 Answers as of August 08, 2011

I am living in Jamaica and I have a 5 yr old son, my cousin is a US citizen can she file paper works for the both of us? If yes how long would it take? I only put a state there so that the question could go through, but I am living in Jamaica. This is the only site that offered me a means of asking this question.

Hello, unfortunately your cousin cannot sponsor you for a family visa. This is too distant a relationship for immigration purposes. However, you may qualify for a work visa if, for example, you have a bachelor's degree and a US job offer in that field. Thanks.
