Can a Landord collect attorney fees and apply our rent money to it if their attorney withdrew the case voluntarily? Posted on January 06, 2011

This landlord was trying to "screw" us from beginning, filed on Nov1 for eviction for $105 in late fees on a $869 a month rent. They got Nov and December and the $105 paid by us and state agencies. We just paid January fees. Their attorney tried to intimidate us into an agreement where they could evict us for his fees and once we refused voluntarily withdrew but they are sending us an unclear bill which seems like they applied our January rent to those attorneys fees of $567. and once I called and asked for a clear bill refused, saying they can apply it towards that. Is this legal?
