Can a judgment creditor garnish both spouse's wages? Posted on May 19, 2011

I had a vehicle repossessed in late 2008. I was unable to arrange a satisfactory repayment plan on the deficiency balance due to my husband being laid off and unemployed for two years. We had a judgment entered against us, and our bank account was garnished. I know that they will try to garnish wages, but what I'm concerned about is will they garnish both my husband’s wages and mine now that he is employed? We were both on the loan. I am very nervous, if they garnish both our wages, I doubt we will be able to make ends meet for basic necessities and provide for our two young children.
