The non-custodial parent is married with 3 children with his spouse. Custodial parent is separated pending divorce, can the non-custodial parents income is consider for in the child support hearing for said child?

In Louisiana the income of the non-custodial parent's spouse may be considered in the calculation of child support if that spouse's income reduces the living expenses of the non-custodial parent. To the extent that the paying spouse has additional children with his new spouse the amount of reduction of living expenses is fairly contestable-much of the spouse's income may go to simply paying the expenses of the children of the new family.
