I have a green card now and I was wondering if I could use my sisters address for my residence or if I need a place that is under my name.

In making a notification to the U.S. CIS of a change of address with a form AR-11, with appropriate fee, you must use the address where you have the most significant connections within the USA. If that is at your sisters address, because you are staying with her, then that is acceptable. If not, you need to use the place where you reside now. If there is any way I can be of help on any other matter, you may contact me by e-mail or phone.

You need to use the address where you are actually residing and where you are actually getting mail on a regular basis.
