Can I sue for personal injury if I did damage to a vehicle in Ohio? 1 Answers as of November 03, 2010
I was riding my bike early afternoon in the bike lane next to parked cars when a lady opened her car door and I hit the door and flew over my bike. Neither of us saw the other coming and she wants to sue me because I damaged her car door but I was wondering if I could sue her for personal injury. Can I do this even if I damaged her car?Free Case Evaluation by a Local Lawyer!

Generally, if a person is negligent in opening a car door into the bike path and it causes you injury, you may have a claim for injuries. There are more factors that need to be considered but if she was negligent for opening her door then you may have a claim against her and she
may not have a claim against you.
