Can I sue for damages to my car after a hit and run? Posted on March 15, 2011
I was involved in a hit and run accident. My car was damaged I was not injured. The total on the car damage was $3,000. The car still runs and is okay but I hear the outside sounds easier and it is not as fun to drive anymore. I was able to follow the other driver giving license plate and car info to 911 Dispatch when the person failed to stop. This person is also military. They explained to their insurance company that they were in fear for their life and that I caused the accident. This has been ongoing for a month. Can I sue for more than damages to my car? They failed to stop and give me information and made no attempt to contact the police or even the Gate guard at the military base they entered (where they live). Thank you for your time.
