Can I petition the courts to have my right to own a firearm restored? 1 Answers as of July 07, 2011

I plead guilty to a non-violent felony 10 years ago in Virginia. It was my only run in with police or the courts, my civil rights have been restored and I can vote. I am a senior at USF in Tampa. Can I petition the courts to have my right to own a firearm restored as well?
