Can I make it legal for a convicted felon to visit me in my Florida home if I have guns? 3 Answers as of March 24, 2011

If I own a gun, and have my concealed carry permit in the state of Florida, can a convicted felon visit me in my home? If not (outside of getting rid of my gun) is there anything that I can do to make his visitation to my home legal?

First, it is not illegal for a convicted felon to visit another citizen who owns guns. Convicted felons are not allowed to own, possess, or have guns in their own homes. There would be no way to enforce such a prohibition. You can check with some other criminal lawyers if you wish, but I don't think there is a problem with your friend visiting you. Just so there is no confusion, lock your guns up during the time that your friend is visiting.
