Can I lose my SSD benefits when my spouse starts working? 1 Answers as of May 25, 2011
I got injured in a car accident years back thus, I do enjoy social security disability benefit and I am on section 8 as well. My fiancée is an illegal immigrant. He came to the US with a visitor visa, which he has overstayed. We look forward to getting married soon because I love him. And thereafter file for his green card. He presently lives with his relations. He has someone that can be a joint sponsor for him already since I don't have the means to support him. Can I lose my SSD benefits when he move in with me and eventually start working after our marriage?

You cannot lose your SSD benefits but you could be in trouble with immigration officials based on his status.
