Can I localize a tradename? 1 Answers as of August 17, 2010

I am going to open my own retail store and I want to use a name that has already been trademarked. I want to localize the tradename by adding our city to the beginning of it (eg Des Moines Sports Center). Will I avoid legal issues if I do this?

Any answer would be speculation and a guess, since the trademark holder can take action against you anytime they think you are infringing.
