Can I go out of the country while in the process of filing immigration papers? 4 Answers as of February 15, 2011

I am fixing my husband’s papers. He is in Mexico and I am in the United States. I would like to know, will there be a problem if I go back to Mexico with my husband? Will it affect the case? I am a US citizen. Can I leave the country?
