Can I get a resident alien renewal application with a criminal record? 2 Answers as of July 02, 2013

I had a DUI in 1999 and another in 2007. I also have 3 suspended licenses. I haven't had any tickets in four years but have to renew my resident card that expires in July 16 2012. Am I going to need a lawyer? I have two felonies or violent crimes, the DUI is my most serious misdemeanor. I was told 3 misdemeanors are counted as 1 felony by immigration.

All of this depends on what were the crimes and what were the sentences.

You failed to state which felonies you have. 3 misdemeanors are not equal to a felony. If you do not have a deportable offense, you should not have a problem renewing. DUI and driving without a license are not deportable offenses.
