Can I get my record expunged for aggravated battery? 2 Answers as of August 01, 2011

I want to know, can I get my record expunged for aggravated battery? I've never been convicted of any other crime since then and I am also under the first offender law. I've been off of probation for 15 years. I was sentenced to probation in 1990 for 5 years. Thanks.

If you have successfully completed all of the terms of your probation and sentencing then it is likely that you will be able to have your record expunged. The expungement process relies upon certain approval by the DA's office and also by a judge so it is not possible to guarantee that you will be successful although it certainly sounds promising.

No because it is considered a crime of violence.
