Can I get married if underaged? Posted on April 17, 2011

I am currently 16 years old, 17 on June 20th, and I am going to get married to an 18 year old illegal alien. Because I am underage, my guardian would have to sign for me, in which my mother said she would. My mother however has joint custody with my father over me. My father lives in Texas and my mother lives with me, in North Carolina. My mother also claims we have to go by Texas state law because that's where they went to court. I was just wondering if both of my parents had to agree to let me get married, or if my mother could just sign for me? I would obviously let me dad know I'm getting married but would his decision affect my future marriage?
