Can I get child custody of an 18 year old? Posted on May 26, 2011

My ex won custody of my two sons in the state of IN although currently they live in IL. He has let my seventeen year old son come here for the school and summer but has threatened to make him return to IL in the fall for the next school year. My son said if he does he will leave on his 18th birthday, my ex then said that according to IN and IL law that my son doesn't have the right to decide where he wants to live and that the judge can force him to remain in my ex's home until he finishes highschool or turns 21. Is this true?
