Can I file for divorce even if we still live together? 7 Answers as of May 15, 2014

I have been in agony for the last 10 years and just cannot take it anymore. My husband has a gambling problem and I just want to file for divorce. He racked up debts and ruined my credit but he has agreed that I initiate the first step. Please advise. Thanks.
