Can I deduct my charitable donation retroactively? 2 Answers as of November 02, 2010

I recently found receipts for donations I have made to charity from the past three years. I have not yet included the information for any of them.

Can I still get deductions for my donations to charity even if years have passed since I have donated?

Assuming the deduction is allowable, you can file an amended return for the tax year where the donation was made. In order to claim the deduction, you have to itemize your deductions.
