Can I be taken to small claim court for an apartment if I was never on the lease but my mail was sent there? 3 Answers as of May 01, 2014

My old roommate has threatened to take me to small claim court for "damages" to a room I stayed in. Keep in mind I left that room clean. I moved out a month before they had left and know they used that room for their kids afterwards. Now she wants money that they are taking our of their deposit. I was never on the lease but they do have my mail that is under the old address. Is there anything they can do to me?
