Can I be sued for giving a phone number to the police? Posted on March 28, 2011

I am the president of a sorority and a few days ago police showed up at our house looking for member. They assured the girls answering the door that she was in no trouble and they just wanted to contact her. They also told the girls they already had her parents phone number. So complying with the officer the girls gave them the phone number.

The girl whom the police were looking for is now upset that her phone number was given to the police. Can she sue our sorority for complying with the police?
