Can I ask my boss to pay for my return mileage from remote location? Posted on July 06, 2011

My employer claims they don't have to pay return mileage from remote location if I don't stop at the office on the way back, even though office is closed at that hour. They are trying to claim it is now considered "commute" because I head home. I am only asking them to cover additional mileage to/from my standard place of employment and the remote location on the days I am asked to go there. I am not asking for mileage to/from my home and the main office.
